Temporal Empowerment
The target of this spell steals their future self’s speed or strength for the duration of the spell. Depending on whether the channeler chooses speed or strength when channeling this spell depends on what bonuses the target gains. The cost of this spell is a base of ten essence plus two essence for every ten seconds the channeler wishes to keep the spell going for. So, if the channeler wishes to keep the spell active for 30 seconds, they must spend 18 essence.
When channeling speed, the target gains double movement and lucky rolls on reactions, defense, and agility based checks. Once the spell ends, the target suffers half movement and unlucky rolls on all rolls that were lucky for equal to the original duration of this spell.
When channeling strength, the target’s might is doubled and they gain lucky rolls on might based checks. The increase in might applies to might associated skills. Once this spell ends, the target’s might is reduced to one and they have unlucky rolls on might based checks for equal to the original duration of the spell.
However, the longer this spell remains active, the longer the negatives remain. So, if the positive bonuses of this spell lasts for thirty seconds, then the negative effects last for the same duration. This spell cannot be channeled on the same target until the negatives have ended.
