Summoner’s Menagerie

Use animal empathy to bond with creatures and summon them from your pocket dimension when needed. Creatures cannot be forced into your menagerie and must consent to the bond.

To use this spell, you need to create a pocket dimension known as your menagerie. To do this, you must meditate on Chrono energy. Each hour spent meditating gives space enough for one creature. The amount of space cannot exceed your channeling statistic. Per hour spent meditating, you must spend the price of the spell. So, if you have a channeling of four and want to max out your dimensions space, it would take four hours of meditation.

Like-wise, when your channeling statistic increases, you only have to meditate for the new points worth of hours put into the statistic. So, if we increase the previous examples of channeling statistic to six, you would only need to meditate for two hours to increase your menagerie’s space. This process is only needed to be performed once for each hour and once completed for the first time the dimension permanently exists for as long as the channeler does. If the channeler no longer exists, all creatures’ bond is broken and they return to their original dimension. Once returned, the dimension implodes and disappears.

The pocket dimension can hold equal to your channeling in creatures. However, the size of the creature depends on how much space they take up.

  • Four teeny sized = 1.
  • Two tiny sized = 1.
  • One small sized = 2
  • One medium-sized = 3
  • Large = 4
  • Huge = 5
  • Creatures that agree to become your companion bond with your pocket dimension, giving them a special area inside just for them. Each creature bonded with your dimension has their own instance of the menagerie. Unless both creatures agree to connect instances, each is separated from each other.

The creatures' surroundings adapt to their needs while they're in the menagerie. If they are hungry, food appears based on the creature’s needs or way of consumption. Should they get lonely, other creatures appear and keep them company. Such as if an animal was in a pack, other animals in the pack would appear as if real. The creatures bonded with the dimension know what is seen in the dimension isn’t real, but it still helps for survivability.

Spend the cost of the spell to teleport the creature from the menagerie to a location within the spell's range. The second number for range is the maximum distance your creature can travel away from you before teleporting back to your side.

Once the creature is summoned, the portal must remain open, otherwise the creature will be instantly teleported back to your pocket dimension. While summoned the creatures act of their own free will with the notion that they agreed to help you however they can. Refer to the creature’s stat blocks in the creature guide for your creature’s information for combat. They are a companion to you.

To add a creature to the summoner’s collection, they need to have a bond with the dimension, and only the summoner can release them from it. Also, anything that originated in the pocket dimension (environment, objects, etc.) cannot leave the dimension. Only those who have bonded with the dimension can enter it along with any items they bring. Those items can leave the dimension as they were not originally in the dimension.

The channeler of this spell cannot be targeted by this spell. They will be stuck in the pocket dimension forever if they do that because they are the only ones who can bring creatures from there to the current dimension.
