Splinter

Touching your conduit to an object that is larger than one square foot, you transmute a portion of the object into small dagger sized projectiles. The newly formed projectiles shoot outward in the direction of your choosing, in a five-foot wide, twenty-five-foot long line. A reaction check must be made to avoid the projectiles. The first target who fails their reaction check takes the indicated amount of damage. The first four projectiles hit the first target, then the next four hit the second target, and so on. If there is only one target within the line, it is hit by all the projectiles.

Two projectiles costs one essence to create and up to eight of them can be created from one square foot of material. The material must be a hardened substance, such as wood, stone, or metal. While this spell can be an elementary spell, if over two projectiles are created, it no longer is an elementary spell and is treated as a boosted spell.

The nature of this spell causes it to have no effect when infused.

Boosting

When this spell is used as an elementary spell, it is boosted differently than other spells. The cost for boosting is halved.
