Energy Canon
Intensely focusing on the energy being absorbed, you can charge up this spell to deal extra damage. The longer this spell charges, the more damage it deals and the harder it is to avoid. This spell can be charged and channeled through two similar methods.
Method One – Build Up
For every turn spent charging up, the damage die is increased by one. Charging the spell this way builds up massive energy within your body, which is expelled out at an extreme speed. Every round spent charging (after the first), the spell’s difficulty increases by one, to a maximum of four. Charging up requires using all your actions and paying the cost each turn. Upon releasing the energy, the cost is paid one final time as well as using all actions. The target must make a reaction check to avoid taking the charged-up damage.
Method Two – Contained Beam
With a quick charge of energy, you send out a beam of raw energy in a line. Anything caught in the line must make a reaction check to avoid the damage. Everything in the beam’s area of effect that has failed their reaction check takes the indicated damage. Once the beam starts, it can be continued by paying the cost and actions at the start of your turn. Every turn the beam is continued, the damage increases by one damage die.
The damage continues to increase for as long as the spell remains active. Each new round the damage is rolled regardless of if anything is within the beam. Anything that moves into the beam takes the new damage.
