Banking
Banks are set up throughout major cities and use clockwork mechanisms to keep their money safe. Upper-class banks use active security systems to reassure wealthy customers about the safety of their money.
There are five banks within the world, Bank of Quartz, Merchant’s Treasury, Band of the Barrens, Emerald Exchange, and Clockwork Vault. Each has their own requirements for becoming a member.
Banks use an energetic system for their ledgers in order to keep track of how much money you have in your account. People can withdraw or deposit money at any of the bank locations they are a member of. They don’t have to stay at one location unless they have an infinite safety box.
Bank of the Barrens
The main bank of Vroth, named after the desert island, that is Vroth. This bank was created when the borders of Vroth were closed. They were originally a branch of Merchant’s Treasury, but the closed borders prevented any connection to the home location. Resulting in the banks of Vroth to branch off and create their own system, away from the temple aspects of the Merchant’s Treasury. This bank is mostly in Vroth, but has locations in major cities throughout the world.

Grimslarian Visa
Entering the Grimslar Empire’s lands requires a visa based on the ring’s social status you are accessing. The higher the ring’s social status, the more the visa costs. In addition, the longer you wish to stay in Grimslar, the more the visa costs. It is possible to purchase a yearly visa if you are a merchant from another empire wishing to partake in regular trade.
Regardless of the settlement, if you do not have the proper visa some establishments can choose to refuse service. See the Grimslarian culture in the cultures and empires chapter for more information.
*Yearly price is based on the type of visa needed and is multiplied by one day of that visa’s cost.
Infinite Safety Box
Infinite safety boxes do not move around like the records in ledgers. They remain at the location they were purchased and have different prices depending on the bank you are a member of.
These boxes are energetically created to store almost an infinite amount of stuff. The owner of the box can stick their hand into the box while thinking of the item they want, and it appears in their hand; provided the item has been previously put in the box. The boxes opening is only one square foot, making it impossible to store anything larger than one foot wide.
Loans
If you are looking to purchase a property or make other large purchases, it is possible to take out a loan from a bank. Each bank has their own maximum amount they will loan out and their own interest rates.
Taking out a loan may appear to be an excellent method to get a significant amount of money quickly, but be careful because failing to make your monthly payments can cause severe consequences. Not only is your property, and any goods confiscated, but the banks have legal rights to hire bounty hunters (at your expense) to bring you back – preferably alive. Once captured and returned, you become an indentured servant until your debt is paid. Indentured servants are given to slave owners to take on their debt. The servant’s wages are given to the bank as payment until their debt is paid. Once their debt is paid, the indentured servant become a slave, as any expenses accrued while an indentured servant becomes a slave debt separate to the debt to the bank.
