Village of Fate
Notable Locations
Dunberry Brothers’ Goods (general store): Owned by Brent and Gilford Dunberry.
The Energetic Hound (inn): Owned by Theodore Mayor but run by Susan Hound.
The Siren’s Song (tavern): Owned by Usapo, a retired Tharish pirate captain.
Mayor’s Greetings
The adventurers can find the mayor in the inn, having a drink with his fiancée. Theodore Mayor will tell the party that a group of bandits is in the nearby forest and is holding one of their own hostage. He will slip one of the adventurers a note that explains the truth of their situation.
If the adventurers push for information, Theodore and Susan will clam up out of fear of being overheard.
Note from Theodore Mayor
The bandits in the forest are not bandits but villagers trying to take back the village. Usapo and Imo are the real bandits, along with a few others in the tavern. They have taken over the town. We will help however we can, but we are not fighters.
Bandit Location
Deep in the nearby forest the bandits have setup camp. What the party doesn’t know is that they aren’t bandits but are atually rebel villagers who have held one of the bandits captive. The real bandits have taken over the village and are hiding out.
Bandit Village
At first glance, Fate appears to be a village like any other. However, upon closer look, it is run by bandits who have taken it over.
The bandits are keeping villagers living in fear, making them submissive. The bandits have occupied the village for an extended period, to the point that the villagers have accepted their new life and no longer fear their fate.
The villagers are asking for help because the bandits are threatening them. The rebels have captured one bandit and are demanding that they leave in exchange for the life of their own.
The villagers took a chance by putting out a call for adventurers to deal with their problem of getting the bandit back. They hope the adventurers would side with the rebels once they discover the truth.
Ilbury Forest
In the forest, there are two villagers with bows and a few with axes, with a captured bandit thug. Stats for the villagers can be taken from the bandit archers. The villagers with the axes will insist on remaining behind to guard the captured bandit. Regardless, they are too afraid to engage in a full-on fight with the bandits in Fate.
The two villagers with bows will help fight, but are not trained soldiers; therefore, they all have a -1 to their attacks and are unarmored.
